About

Eraser Tees was started by two high school teachers in Michigan. The idea came when the two gentlemen, we'll call them Eric and Brian,

were eating lunch one day and discussing ways to make their lives, and more specifically their wardrobes, a little simpler.

Brian's idea was to create seven shirts, one with each day of the week on it. Then when you wake up in the morning, you look at the calendar, realize it's Thursday, and you thrown on your Thursday shirt. You can't get much more simple than that.

Eric's idea was to create a shirt for every activity you participate in that simply said "This is my _____ shirt." Going to work? Put on your "This is my work shirt" shirt. School? "This is my school shirt." Heading out to the gym? "This is my workout shirt." They agreed that Eric's idea was much better and began looking into printing the shirts.

We quickly learned how expensive it is to print a small number of shirts, so we went back to the drawing board. We decided rather than having 10 or 15 different "This is my" shirts, we could create just one shirt with a blank you can fill in with whatever you want. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Our first shirt was made with duct tape and iron on letters. True story! From do it yourself screen printing kits to vinyl plotters and heat presses, we've spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars trying to develop a formula that allowed us to write on a shirt and immediately erase it.

The idea of a shirt you write on isn't new. There are a few others out there we've found. The problem we found with all of them is you have to wash the shirt before you can change the message. We wanted a shirt you could write on and change a few minutes later. A shirt you could play a game on, erase, and then play again.

It should be noted that somewhere in this process, Brian disappeared. I think it was about the time when the hard work started. So the day to day operations are handled by Eric. Brian was last spotted in Buffalo, NY eating a roast beef sandwich.

So there you have it, the story of how Eraser Tees came to be!

I'd love to hear from you! Send me an email if you have an idea for a shirt, want to tell me what you think of the idea, or if you've seen Brian!
